Our Approach

It takes patience and courage to find the right therapist for yourself, your child, or your teen—and we deeply value the trust it takes to begin that process.

We start with a free phone consultation to answer your questions and determine whether we’re a good fit. If it turns out we’re not the right match, we’ll gladly help connect you with other professionals or services that may better meet your needs.

For child and teen therapy, we begin with an initial parent intake session. This meeting allows us to discuss your concerns, review logistics and confidentiality, and talk through how to best introduce your child or teen to therapy. Together, we’ll begin developing a plan that supports their growth and emotional well-being.

For young adults and college students, the intake session provides a chance to explore what’s bringing you to therapy, identify your goals, and set the foundation for our work together.

After the intake, ongoing sessions typically occur weekly for 50 minutes. In the early stages, your therapist will focus on building rapport, deepening understanding, and collaboratively shaping goals.

For children and teens, we maintain regular communication with parents and offer feedback and strategies to support progress at home. For parent coaching, sessions may focus on strengthening parent–child connection, understanding behavior through a developmental lens, and applying practical tools to create lasting change.

Throughout the process, we believe therapy works best when it’s collaborative. We welcome your feedback and partnership as we work together toward growth and healing.
